Ministry and MACL Discuss Opportunities for Vara Expo 2026

After supporting last year’s expo as Gold Partner, MACL met with the Ministry to explore its role as a sponsor and exhibitor at Vara Expo 2026.

Building on a strong partnership from last year, the Ministry of Homeland Security, Labour and Technology held a meeting with Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to discuss the company’s involvement in Vara Expo 2026.

Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director of MACL, Mr. Ibrahim Shareef Mohamed, highlighted on the shared commitment to provide opportunities for young Maldivians.

As Gold Partner of Vara Expo 2025, MACL was among the expo’s leading supporters, helping bring opportunities closer to thousands of visitors. Both parties reflected on that experience and shared ideas on how MACL’s role could be strengthened this year, both through sponsorship and a presence on the exhibition floor. The aviation sector holds wide potential for young Maldivians. As the operator of the country’s main international gateway, MACL employs people in roles ranging from airport operations and engineering to customer service, safety and management. An exhibition space at Vara Expo 2026 would allow visitors to meet the MACL team, learn about these career paths and discover how to get started in the industry.
